Effective 26 September 2026 · Applies to the Android and Android TV app Lanelo: Video & Audio Player (package app.lanelo.video) published by JK Codes.
Lanelo is an offline-first media player. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting. The app does not collect, store or transmit personal data to the developer, and the developer operates no server that the app talks to. Everything Lanelo remembers stays on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Data that stays on your device
- Media library. Lanelo reads the video and audio files on your device through Android's media permissions (
READ_MEDIA_VIDEO,READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, and the partial-access option on Android 14+). It does not copy, upload or index your files anywhere else. - Playback history and resume positions. Stored in a local database so you can continue where you left off. You can clear it at any time from Settings → Privacy → Clear history.
- Playlists, queue, bookmarks and captured frames. Stored locally. Captured frames are written to your device's Pictures folder.
- Vault. Files you hide are moved into app-private storage and encrypted. The PIN is stored only as a salted hash on the device. At setup the app shows you a one-time recovery code, which is not stored anywhere. The developer never has your PIN, passphrase or recovery code, so if you lose them the vault cannot be recovered.
- Network shares. SMB server addresses and, if you choose to save them, the password is stored on the device encrypted with a key held in the Android Keystore; it is never stored in plain text and is only ever sent to the server you entered.
- Settings and preferences. Stored locally.
Network connections the app makes
Lanelo only uses the network when you use a feature that needs it. Each connection goes directly from your device to the service listed; nothing passes through the developer. What each service receives is limited to what the feature needs.

The third-party services above have their own privacy policies. Lanelo sends them no device identifier, account or advertising ID.
Purchases
Lanelo is free to download. Lanelo Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase, sold only through Google Play. Google Play handles the whole payment: your payment details, billing address and Google account are given to Google, never to the developer, and are covered by Google's privacy policy.
To know whether Pro is active, the app asks Google Play on your device which Lanelo purchases your Google account owns, and keeps the answer in local storage so Pro keeps working offline. That record never leaves your device. The developer runs no purchase server and receives no personal data from the app. Google Play provides the developer with its standard sales and order reports.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in Google Play (Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy.
Permissions
- Media access to list and play your files.
- Internet and network state for the features in the table above.
- Wi-Fi multicast to discover DLNA and Chromecast devices on your network.
- Notifications and foreground service to keep audio playing in the background with playback controls, and to show progress of a model download.
- Wake lock to keep the screen on during video playback.
- Android TV channel data to publish your Continue Watching row on Google TV. That row is stored on your device by the system launcher.
Lanelo does not request microphone, camera, location, contacts or calendar access.
Children
Lanelo is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone.
Data deletion
Uninstalling Lanelo deletes everything it stored, including the vault and its contents. Move vault files back out before uninstalling if you want to keep them. Playback history can be cleared separately from Settings. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription; your Pro purchase stays with your Google account and is restored when you reinstall.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with an updated effective date. Because the app has no accounts, there is no way to notify you in-app beyond a new version of the app.

The "Report content" flags and the "Contact support" row open a draft in your own email app, addressed to that address and naming the item you are reporting. Nothing is sent unless you send it, and it then reaches the developer like any email you write, from your own address. Lanelo itself transmits nothing.
